Petrolprices.com and the AA have done well today with a story on the ‘biggest single day leap in petrol prices so far this year.

“Motorists buying unleaded faced a 0.64p hike within 24 hours,” the Express (p7) tells us.  The Daily Telegraph puts the piece front page, saying it adds weight to it’s ‘fair deal for drivers’ campaign.

Luke Bosdet from the AA gives a nice, weighty quote: “Every day, UK motorists drive past their local petrol station and look with trepidation to see if the pricehas gone up another penny.  Yesterday’s leap in price means that, for many, the price will go up twice in one week.”

Louise Soherty at petrolprices.com says we are edging towards £1.50 a litre on unleaded petrol.
