Guinness, Scouts and Second Life on St. Patricks Day

There’s little doubt that Guinness have done an incredible job of ‘owning’ St. Patrick’s Day. For at least a day each year everyone goes crazy at their nearest Irish pub celebrating the day, wearing silly Guinness hats, banging Guinness Drums and, er, drinking Guinness. Whilst in the US some good coverage appeared for a campaign for St. Paddy’s as a national day (we’ve all seen this one before…) the real marketing coup is the way Guinness have seeimingly worked with every chain pub in the country to push ‘their’ day.
