I am as angry as anyone that there are people in this country who get to live the highlife from crimes committed against the rest of society, but this message is unbelievably ‘surveillance society’ – What if you happen to like ostentatious costume jewellery? (That isn’t worth a lot). Or you get left a nice car or money in a relative’s will? Does this mean you can expect the trauma of being treated as a potential criminal on the ‘information’ of any busybody or person who may bear you a grudge? I support the police in most circumstances, but this policy is disgusting and brings shame on our police force and society.
Every day there's a big winner, a piece of genius PR that makes its way across the papers, radio, TV and online. Here at the PR Hall of Fame I flag this bit of coverage up - so that you can get into work at 9am and already know one aspect of the media agenda for the day.
