Pinch yourself in 2009 and you could be forgiven for believing you’re back in 1989. Monday’s Guardian had a good piece on the ‘blasts from the past’ revisiting us these days.

Today’s press has the extremely welcome news that F1 will return to the BBC – a godsend for the many Formula 1 fans like myself who’ve had to put up with ITV missing some of the best moments of motor racing due to a Honda Advert running a little too long.

The other big comeback covered today is for Enid Blyton’s new Famous Five, given the Disney treatment. Apparently they’ll now have laptops, iPods and get ASBOs for hanging around parks with an aggressive ‘tim’ dog…
